What features are we asking for in future versions of tvOS and watchOS? — 2022
The WWDC It is the moment in which Apple will present us with its next software versions. The kings of the event will be iOS and macOS, however, many of us want to see news in tvOS and watchOS, news like the ones I'm telling you below.
Upcoming tvOS and watchOS releases at WWDC 2017
Both tvOS and watchOS will receive news in the next version of their operating system, news that is still secret and that we can only assume until next June when Apple will officially present it to us.
Although we don't know anything about tvOS and watchOS, we wanted to make a compilation of functions that we would like to see in both operating systems. We start with tvOS, the operating system for Apple TV could bring great news in its next version. I particularly like it a lot and I expect (at least) the following news:
- Integrated web browser
- Live streams from one place
An interesting function would be the possibility of choosing between different users in a more comfortable and simple way. The possibility of having multiple accounts on the same device will empower Apple TV in the face of families or people who share the same household .
Thanks to this function, each person in the house could have their own user account, their own apps, their own settings, and their own Apple ID associated among many other things.
The function picture-in-picture It's now available for iOS on select iPad models and macOS Sierra. This function is designed to continue enjoying content within a window while we can continue using the rest of the system's functions.
This is an interesting feature and it would make sense for it to come to Apple TV now that other Apple devices already have this feature.
I think if Apple made a version of Safari for the Apple TV, the device would gain a lot. We would probably be talking about the end of smartTVs. With an integrated browser we could see web pages from our television, even being able to enjoy exclusive multimedia content from certain websites . The possibilities of using the Apple TV would increase and I just wonder, why doesn't it exist?
Another novelty expected by many people is the possibility that in a single site all the live broadcasts available in the different applications installed on AppleTV. It is an option that would help the user to choose live content in a faster and more comfortable way, avoiding the laborious work of opening application by application.
I don't know if he Siri Speaker It will be a reality at WWDC but if it isn't, I think the Apple TV could be the device for that. For it, Siri needs to receive news both on all operating systems where it is available (including tvOS and watchOS).
The idea that has more weight is that the assistant opts for artificial intelligence and greater proactivity. In tvOS this proactivity could come with devices compatible with the Home app .
watchOS will also have news
In this roundup of features we'd like to see in both tvOS and watchOS there are some features that could be in both operating systems like Siri and some that might not. However, I think it is the turn of the operating system for watches.
I know that this function is more focused on the Apple Watch, but why not the Apple TV? we should of be better connected in terms of health with all Apple devices .
We have a small doctor on our wrist, capable of analyzing our heartbeat, however, it should be able to warn us that we have a heart problem, for example, based on the pulsations, reiterate us to follow a healthy routine depending on our habits. A better synchronization between all apple devices , etc.
Siri on the Apple Watch is mute (or mute, depending on what we want it to be). Although it is true that it is understandable because it facilitates its use without other people knowing, that does not mean that there may be exceptions when we wear headphones (for example AirPods), such as when we play sports and notify us of the measurements . Something more than Siri is missing in that sense .
Although it is true that we have the Dock where to put a few applications so that they start faster, the truth is that it remains in few.
That is why I would like Apple to allow some more applications to quickly access these apps on the watch. In tvOS multitasking goes perfectly, zero complaints.
The Apple Watch depends on the iPhone, a feature I don't like but there is no other alternative (for now), but why isn't there some kind of alert capable of notifying us that we forget the iPhone ? It would be a functional feature and I think that it is highly demanded by users of an Apple Watch.
I want an Apple Watch independent of the iPhone. I know it will come at some point but for that, we must see some improvements in the software. Improvements such as the possibility of d download apps from the watch, enable video AirPlay (for presentations), performance improvements (watchOS is still not powerful despite the noticeable improvement in watchOS 3) and improvements in native applications such as Mail .
As you can see, my requests are quite consistent about what I want for the next versions of tvOS and watchOS. And you, what would you like to see in both operating systems?
