They are already here! Second betas of iOS 13.4, iPadOS 13.4 and other systems — 2022
Two weeks ago, the first beta versions of iOS 13.4 and iPadOS 13.4 arrived, accompanied by the rest of the operating systems. In them we found interesting news that are still present in the second betas that Apple has already launched for all developers. It should be noted that there are also those corresponding to macOS 10.15.4, watchOS 6.2, and tvOS 13.4 .
Update 02/21/2020: the second public betas of these versions are now available.
What's new in beta 2 of iOS 13.4 and iPadOS 13.4?
If you currently have the first beta of iOS 13.4 or iPadOS 13.4 installed, you can now go to Settings>General>Software update to download the second, in the same way as if it were a version for the general public. In case you do not have this beta installed and want to try it, we recommend you take a look at the tutorial in which we explainhow to install an iOS or iPadOS beta.
In these second betas we find again bug fixes and internal improvements accompanied by the same news already detected in the last beta. We remind you that some of the most outstanding are:
- arrival of the shared folders in iCloud , a novelty already advanced at WWDC 2019 and that has taken more than half a year to see the light.
- Improvements in Carplay with third-party apps and the arrival of Carkey , system that will allow starting a vehicle carrying the Apple Watch or iPhone.
However, we find that some things have not been solved, such as theproblems with notifications on iPad. In addition to these, other novelties were included such as new keyboard shortcuts for iPad , some visual improvements to the native Mail app, and other tweaks to our localization. All of them are also still present in these second betas. What may still be present in these betas are the references to new products that were already detected in the first, such as the new Apple TV 4K or the possible change of processors in Macs.
When will the final versions arrive?
Several lines ago we indicated the way in which to download the betas, although we want to emphasize that we do not recommend installing them as a general rule. In this case, we understand that there are interesting new features that can attract attention, but we must bear in mind that these versions are somewhat unstable and can lead to certain bugs such as app malfunctions or unexpected device restarts.
Therefore, we recommend waiting for the final versions of iOS 13.4, iPadOS 13.4 and company. These will come to light possibly end of March. It is not that there are clear indications that this is going to be the case, but considering the rhythm of betas that Apple usually launches for each version, it is understandable that it was so. In addition, it could also coincide with the launch or presentation of new products such as the aforementioned Apple TV or the also rumored iPhone 9 and fourth-generation iPad Pro.
In any case, we will be attentive to all the news that these betas throw up, as well as the exact release date of these versions for all users.
