Filtered the supposed design of the new modular Mac Pro — 2022

2019 is the year that Apple itself mentioned to launch the new Mac Pro, a team that s replace the company's misnamed 'trash bin'. This will be a professional Mac that will play in the iMac Pro league but will be characterized by being a modular team, that is, different components of it can be updated. Nothing else had been known about this team until now. AppleInsider has collected an image of this equipment through Imgur where do you see both the design and the specifications, although they may generate some doubts.

This could be the design of the Mac Pro

In the following image we can see the screen of a computer where the data of the new Apple computer can be seen. Specifically we can read in the header 'Mac Pro model 7.1' next to its code name which is Phoenix.

As we can see, the design would be quite squared with quite compact dimensions of 19,56 x 29,34 x 29,34 cm. We see that this image was taken in November 2018 and its author has been removed, which is why we believe there may be some kind of modification regarding this design, although a priori it seems quite sober, very Apple.

In addition to the supposed design also the characteristics that could have theMac Pro 2019 Which are the following:

  • Intel Xeon W Cascade Lake-X processor.
  • T2 security chip
  • Apple X2 Accelerator.
  • DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM.
  • 3 PCIe ports with 4 slots.
  • AMD FirePro-X card.
  • Nvidia Quadro / RTX card.
  • 8 Thunderbolt-C ports with support for Display Pro 1.4a, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 3.1 Gen 2.
  • 2 HDMI 2.1 ports.
  • Bluetooth 5.1.

As we can see, there are characteristics that are quite 'strange' in relation to theMac ports, but also to others, such as the type of RAM memory that is described, has not yet seen the light and surely it would not begin to be distributed commercially until 2020, so this Mac Pro could not incorporate it when it was launched this year. Another of the problems detected is that the mention of Thunderbolt 4 is made when absolutely nothing is yet known about this new connection standard.

We will have to wait until the end of this year to see this new Mac Pro, although there are some rumors that mention that Apple would be ready to show us a small appetizer at WWDC 2019 itself. We'll see if thisMac suffers from problems turning onas happened in some specific units in 2013.

The main feature of this professional equipment is that it is modular, so a person at home could be able to update some aspects such as storage or RAM.
