We find up to four ranges of iPad tablets, which have differences in terms of size and design as well as components. Obviously the price also varies in these and although each one has an approach, for practical purposes we could say that the order from cheapest to most expensive also refers to the most basic iPad in features and the most advanced.

Aesthetically they continue to maintain the considered classic design with Home button and pronounced frames on the front. Its storage is also of smaller capacities, so all this serves in the end to lower the price of the iPad with respect to the other ranges.

AppleCare+ price and without included accessories

Keep in mind that although you can see any of the iPads advertised with accessories such as keyboards or the Apple Pencil, these are not included in the box and must be purchased separately. What is included in the box, in addition to the tablet itself and the user manuals, is the power cable and the charging adapter. A Lightning to USB-A cable is included with iPad and iPad mini, while a USB-C to USB-C cable is included with iPad Air and iPad Pro. In none of these cases is there an additional cost.

What can be contracted during the purchase process and that supposes an extra expense is the AppleCare+ Extended Warranty , which provides a series of benefits for possible future repairs of the iPad. In all models the price of this insurance is 79 euros , while on the 11-inch iPad Pro it is €139 and on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro it is 159 euros.

When does Apple lower the price of its iPad?

In the past, Apple traditionally lowered the price of its tablets after the arrival of a new generation. Normally these were price drops of around 100 euros. On average, the company kept its iPads in its catalog for 2 years, but from 2017 onwards it completely changed this paradigm. Today prices are no longer lowered but directly Apple discontinues its iPads when a newer generation of them is released. Nor does the launch of a new range affect the price of another.

What we have been seeing in this article are official prices that Apple has for its tablets, either in its physical Apple Store or in the online store. However, it is possible that authorized sellers may be able to market some of the tablets (whether they are current or discontinued) at lower prices, either as a temporary offer or because of their own pricing policy. In any case, the vast majority of stores are committed to maintaining a price that is identical or very similar to that of the Californian company itself.

What previous Apple tablets cost

The prices of the different ranges of iPad have been changing over the years until reaching the current ones that we have seen in previous sections. In some ranges the price has remained more or less stable, while in other cases it has been increasing. We must bear in mind that the 'Pro' range did not exist until 2015 and it was not until its arrival that we found more expensive Apple tablets and that consequently they were dragging the rest of the models to increase their price.

We can see below a list with the prices that the iPads discontinued by Apple had at the time of launch. It is possible to find some of them in third-party stores, reconditioned or second-hand and with different prices, something logical over the years and its consequent price devaluation.
