Blackmagic eGPU Pro will be available for purchase this week in the Apple Store — 2022

Apple's external eGPU that was announced several months ago was pushed back a month past its early 2019 release. Blackmagic eGPU Pro will start to be available for purchase in the Apple Store Online this week as collected in 9to5mac . At the moment in the US this external graphic will begin to reach users on January 15 but in Spain there is still no defined date, although little by little they are appearing in all countries, and we are still waiting for the Spanish Store.

Currently in the Apple Store Online we can find an external graphics card, the Blackmagic eGPU at a lower price offering acceptable performance but it may be insufficient for the most demanding users and that is why Apple released this solution which will soon start to be available.

Blackmagic eGPU Pro coming soon to the Apple Store

As we say, in most regions the delivery of this accessory is scheduled next January 15, but in other regions it has not yet become available. We hope that in the next few hours Apple will enable the purchase of this external graphic in all markets.

Blackmagic eGPU Pro

The main criticism of the original Blackmagic eGPU is that incorporates a Radeon Pro 580 graphics with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory that gave a somewhat limited performance but that could perfectly fulfill the tasks of most users, being able to connect a 5K screen without problem and perform tasks such as video editing at this resolution.

For better graphics performance, Apple has decided to release this Blackmagic eGPU Pro that incorporates u n Radeon RX Vega 56 graphics processor with 8 GB of HBM2 memory . With this accessory you will be able to enjoy an incredible graphic epxereincai, being able to support a workload that before only an iMac Pro did in the words of Apple itself. The connectivity of this equipment is incredible, being able to connect several USB-C, DisplayPort or HDMI. The best connection is undoubtedly the DisplayPort to be able to connect compatible monitors that give us a good resolution and performance.

To use this external eGPU you simply need to have a Mac with a Thunderbolt 3 connector and the latest version of the operating system. The price can be the limitation that you find since as we see s in the Apple Store Online e has a price in Spain of €1359 . If we want to opt for the previous model with a fairer graphics card 'only' we will have to pay €695.
