Apple will stop giving away the famous Lightning adapter this year — 2022

The transition to adapt to a world without cables seems to have come to an end, at least on the part of Apple , where this year, they could stop including the lightning adapter on iPhones. The adapter was incorporated with the arrival of the iPhone 7 , it was a drastic change where many users did not have or were not willing to move to wireless headphones. The AirPods they have been a boon for this, but not everyone wants or can afford one. Yes, there are an infinite variety of Bluetooth headphones, but there are also those who prefer to continue using wired headphones of another brand that are not the ones that Apple already includes in each iPhone, the EarPods .

Apple will still sell the adapter

If we go to the Apple Store website (or app), we will find the adapter for a recommended price of 9 euros (which to be from Californians, is cheap). There are other variants in Amazon , but honestly, we do not recommend it since they are not usually MFI (certified by Apple) and could give you problems at any time. In fact you shouldn't haveproblems with the EarPods on the iPhoneand if you buy original.

The voice of alarm about the decision not to include this adapter in future iPhones comes from analysts at Barclays Blayne Curtis . Where we remember that this year Apple plans to launch at least 3 new iPhones , plus a new iPhone SE2 that could be falling.

One of the biggest losers in this decision would be the supplier of this accessory, Cirrus Logic . Who is currently in charge of manufacturing the Lightning adapter that Californians have been including in iPhone boxes since 2016, specifically with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

As a negative point of this lightning adapter , we can find it directly on the page of Apple where is it sold. Customer reviews are not very good, scoring low and with harsh criticism. Obviously these opinions are not binding as they are not an opinion of the device itself. This also occurs inLightning to USB adaptersfound in the Apple Store at a high price.

What do you think about the elimination of this adapter for the new iPhone? Do you use it frequently?
