Apple removes in iOS 11 the option to open multitasking using 3D Touch — 2022
Those who have already tested the iOS 11 beta from an iPhone 6s or 7 have been able to verify that now they can no longer open multitasking with 3D Touch. It was not known if this was a bug that would be fixed soon or if Apple I had removed it. Well, it has already been confirmed that this function will disappear.
Apple is still not exploiting the functions of 3D Touch
In September 2015, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were presented, which included, among other improvements, a new function called 3D Touch . This function enabled thanks to Force Touch screens . This means that by means of different levels of pressure on the screen different functions can be carried out, And that's what 3D Touch does, which was also built into the next generation with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
With this function you can make shortcuts by clicking on an application icon. For example, in the settings app, you can directly access bluetooth, WiFi, mobile data or battery. Also with this function you can preview certain content such as web pages or emails without having to open them.
Another of the functions that were given to 3D Touch was to Open multitasking by exerting a certain level of pressure on the left side of the screen. This function is the one will disappear in iOS 11 as has already been confirmed by Apple.
Apple engineering has confirmed that 3D Touch multitasking was intentionally removed in iOS 11. I am livid. pic.twitter.com/kiCcLq9XMB

The reason for removing this feature It is due to the little use that users gave it , since most still access multitasking by double-clicking the home button.
There is no doubt that 3D Touch is a good technology. It was very novel in its presentation but has been sowing doubts during this time. Other companies have already implemented similar functions and Apple itself has not been able to make the most of this function. on their phones.
I personally find some of these functions very useful. In fact I often use it on my iPhone as a shortcut in some applications. However I don't see it as essential , and I think most users think the same. That's why I think Apple should keep working on it, developing new features that stand out and really make it a must-have feature. Something that really makes it different from the rest and gives us much more.
In iOS 11, for now, We have not been able to see any improvement or novelty with respect to 3D Touch. Moreover, it seems that with the withdrawal of the multitasking function, Apple is giving symptoms that they really do not know what to do with this functionality.
Will we have 3D Touch on the iPhone 7s and iPhone 8?
Apple would present two new generations of iPhone in September. The 7s, improved versions of the current ones, and the tenth anniversary iPhone (which we call iPhone 8 in the absence of an official name). At least this is what all the rumors and voices close to the Cupertino company point to.
It is known that iPhone 7s would bring performance improvements and maybe some new iPhone 8 feature like wireless charging. But As for the screen, it does not seem that there will be any news . It would come in the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch sizes as its predecessors; and it would also be an LCD screen, so we understand that it will still have the 3D Touch function.
In the iPhone 8 however the screen will be quite improved . It's known that Samsung will be Apple's supplier of OLED screens for your next terminal. With this new screen it is not known if they will incorporate the Force Touch , and I get the 3D Touch functions. In fact, it has been speculated that the reason for removing the 3D Touch multitasking function is due to a new function that the iPhone 8 may bring and replace the previous one.
At the moment we still don't know what will happen with 3D Touch, not in future iPhones, but in the present ones when iOS 11 arrives.
What do you think? Do you think that Apple is leaving this technology aside or, on the contrary, will present us with something new related to it soon? Tell us about it in the comments.
